Payment Fee Calculators

Estimate what card and wallet payments really cost, and what to charge so the right amount lands in your account. Presets are taken from providers’ official pricing pages and dated.

  • Estimate Stripe processing fees and net payout, or work backwards to the amount to charge so you receive what you need.

  • Calculate PayPal commercial transaction fees for domestic and international payments, and the amount to invoice for a target net.

Understanding payment processing fees

Most online payment providers charge a percentage of each payment plus a fixed amount. The fixed part matters more than you might expect on small payments: on a $5 sale, a 30-cent fixed fee alone is 6%.

Fees vs the amount to charge

Working out the fee on a payment is simple multiplication. Working backwards — “what do I charge so I get $100?” — needs a division, because the provider takes its percentage from the larger amount too. Both calculators here do it in either direction.

Things that change your real rate

  • International or premium cards and currency conversion.
  • In-person extras such as Tap to Pay or card-reader fees.
  • Refunds, where providers generally keep their original fee.
  • Disputes and chargebacks, which carry separate fees.
